In the context of this website, hybrids are characters from across world mythology who have both human as well as animal characteristics. These characteristics could be in the form of abilities, powers, abilities or even physical attributes.

Many of the hybrids are creations of the gods while some come into existence because of supernatural forces. Some hybrids can also arise out of mating between 2 species or even if the gods decide to take the form of the other species.

In some mythologies, hybrid figures are present in the pantheon as gods and tend to be immortal but in most cases they exist on earth along with other mortals and are usually in conflict with them. They are also known to exhibit both positive and negative traits and can side with either good or evil depending on their type.
